What and where is Hogares Santa
Ana?
Hogares Santa Ana
is a non-profit center fundamentally dedicated to the elderly in need. It is
located in front of Aguirre, a small village in the Montalban District, in
Carabobo State in Venezuela, 200 yards from the Bejuma-Canoabo Road. The center
has been developing since 1985 in a beautiful valley of 30 acres of land with
an excellent climate, a mix of hills and flat lands which are crossed by a creek
and where spiritual retreats and youth programs are also carried out.
How was this center started?
HOGARES SANTA ANA is a social institution
that was born in the mind of Monsignor Eleazar Aguilar more than 20 years ago,
conceived to be a testimony of the charity of the Catholic Church. In 1985 the
Civil Association that legally supports it was founded. With patience and great
effort Monsignor Aguilar worked during 14 years, and together with the help of
people of good will developed the basic physical infrastructure of this
beautiful project. He died suddenly when the basic construction was practically
finished and he was searching for help to buy equipment, furniture and money to
cover operational expenses.
