REGULATIONS

 

REGULATIONS FOR THE ADMISSION AND LIVING CONDITIONS OF THE RESIDENTS AND PERSONNEL OF HOGARES SANTA ANA (HSA).-

 

1)      Any person to be hired as an employee at HOGARES SANTA ANA (HSA), should be in good health and with standing moral values. Employees taking care of the elderly should have humanitarian qualities and a service vocation.

 

2)      All employees must follow the regulations of HSA. Otherwise, this may be a reason for dismissal or firing.

 

3)      For admission as a resident to Hogares Santa Ana (HSA) it is required that the candidate is physically and mentally capable.

 

4)      The resident must have a representative or responsible person that becomes a member of HSA and who will follow the regulations of HSA. If the resident does not have any family or representative, he/she can be his/her own representative.

 

5)      The new resident or the representative of the resident must authorize HSA for any medical treatment necessary for his/her  well being after the admission at HAS.

 

6)      If a resident does not follow the HSA regulations, the resident or his/her representative agrees to the removal or discharge of the resident from the center.

 

7)      If a resident or his/her family does not inform of any physical or mental condition that was not observed during the initial medical admission test but which interferes with the normal living conditions at the center, the resident agrees to leave the center due to this situation.

 

8)      Since HSA is an institution funded by donations and contributions from institutions and individuals, a voluntary monthly contribution will be required to those residents or families of the residents who are able to provide it. This contribution will help to support the expenses of the resident and others who do not have any financial means. The Board of Directors will set up the amount.

 

9)      Since HSA is a community based on Christian principles, residents must follow some norms according to moral and religious principles including mutual respect, kindness and cooperation.

 

10)  Relationships between the residents, and the residents and employees, must be courteous and respectful. Offensive behavior will not be tolerated and be subject to sanctions that will include the removal/dismissal of the resident or employee from the institution.

 

11)  The following will be considered unacceptable behavior subject to removal/dismissal from the center: a) Offensive behavior towards any member of the community; b) Leaving the institution without authorization c) No compliance with the HSA norms and regulations.

 

12)  The residents should voluntarily participate in reading, crafts and/or farming activities to keep themselves busy and in good mental and physical health.

 

13)  Those residents who participate in the production of marketable goods and services to support HSA will be able to receive a percentage of the generated income as determined by the Board of Directors.

 

14)  HSA personnel and residents should follow the basic norms of personal hygiene to provide pleasant and healthy living conditions for the community. Residents should take or be given a shower or bath at least twice a week unless any other medical condition exists that should change that.

 

15)  Any evidence of immoral behavior by a resident and/or employee, or repetitive behavior that harms good relationships at HSA will be considered a cause for removal from HSA. This decision should be documented by the Board of Directors.

 

16)  Any suggestions or recommendations to improve the activities and facilities at HSA are appreciated. It should be addressed to the Board of Directors by mail or in person.

 

17)  Any resident’s complain or claim should be preferably addressed in writing to the Board of Directors.

 

18)  When a resident is admitted at HSA, an inventory of personal items being brought to the center must be put in writing. It is signed by the resident and /or the representative of the resident and the person who processes the admission to the center. The resident keeps the original document and the center gets a copy for the HSA files.

 

19)  Items that are borrowed from any member of the Board of Directors or any other private or public institution for a temporary use at HSA should be recorded in an HSA inventory form specifying the owner. This form should be signed by the owner of the item and by the President and/or the HSA administrator.

 

20)  Any person asking for admission to the center and referred by a private or public organization affiliated to HSA should present a letter of reference.
